The roots of MAGTEC began in the U.K. where technology was developed to stop the theft of jeeps during Desert Storm. Since then, MAGTEC Products, Inc., was founded in 1995, and is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

From the beginning, the company has experienced success practicing primarily in theft deterrence and vehicle security.

As a result of working closely with U.S. carriers, law enforcement and other government agencies, MAGTEC identified a need to re-focus in late 2001. Carriers shared wish lists in hopes of implementing improved control and management of their in-transit drivers and equipment.  

Today, MAGTEC has become a leader specializing in developing and manufacturing commercial vehicle control systems specifically designed for the transit, trucking and heavy equipment industries. MAGTEC's preventive-based technology and FleetControl™ addresses challenges associated with security, driver management, safety, asset protection and prevention of cargo theft.

MAGTEC specializes in product design and enhancement, certified installation and industry education. MAGTEC works with carriers, contractors, associations and government agencies.

The company is headquartered in Calgary, AB and operates a wholly owned subsidiary, MAGTEC Products (USA), Inc., in Willowbrook, IL USA.
